Who can join?

Full time ergonomists should all be members of the Institute in order to progress their career, influence the future of their profession and define the level of professionalism required of registered ergonomists.

Related professions also need to make their mark in the Institute as well as keeping up to date with developments in the science.

The grades of membership are:

  • Student Member: a student on any course.
  • Graduate Member: a newly qualified ergonomist working towards Registered Membership.
  • Associate Member: anyone with an interest in ergonomics/human factors, who can also work towards Registered Membership.
  • Registered Member: the professional level of membership requiring demonstration of practical and in-depth application of the principles of ergonomics and human factors across a range of disciplines and experiences.
  • Fellow: someone who has made a significant contribution to ergonomics/human factors.

So join the IEHF, you will find a lively community of like-minded, friendly people who are more than happy to share experiences, educate you and offer friendship. You will enjoy the benefits of being a member, you could join your local regional group and expand your network of contacts locally.
